We are excited to welcome acclaimed jazz pianist Reggie Thomas to Redmond High School next week! Mr. Thomas has performed with legendary groups such as the Count Basie Orchestra and the Chicago Jazz Orchestra, and has been a dedicated member of Birch Creek Performance Center for over 30 years. He also served as Coordinator of the Jazz Studies program at Northern Illinois University and has shared his expertise internationally, including coaching ensembles in Carnegie Hall’s National Youth Jazz Orchestra during a tour in South Africa.

In addition, we’re thrilled to invite you to a special concert featuring Redmond High School Jazz with the help of Mr. Thomas, at Redmond Middle School on April 3rd from 7:00–8:30 PM. This event is open to everyone—come enjoy an evening of outstanding jazz music along with free refreshments. Music students especially are encouraged to attend and be inspired!

This week long Artist-in-Residence and concert are in thanks to and honor of our former director of bands, Andy “Ert” Robertson.

Our Redmond Wind Ensemble truly enjoyed themselves at the Western Washington University Band Festival yesterday!

We're excited for our next performances at the Northlake I Festival and Lary Gookin Invitational soon.

Congratulations to our Wind Ensemble on an outstanding performance at the 2026 WMEA Conference!

It was a true privilege to share with the Washington music education community the remarkable growth our program has experienced in the face of significant change and loss over the past four years. We were also honored to recognize the lasting impact our former director and WMEA Hall of Fame Inductee, Andy Robertson, made on this program.

Thank you to our incredible Wind Ensemble families, Redmond High School administrators and staff, the Washington Music Educators Association, and our Redmond Band alumni and their families for their continued support. Special thank you to our guest clinicians, Mr. Bixby and Mr. Powell for their time helping us prepare for this once in a lifetime opportunity.

Congratulations again to our musicians for the many hours of practice and hard work they put into making this performance a success!

We would also like to extend our gratitude to the many dedicated music educators — from elementary and middle school band teachers who first introduced our students to music, to their current private teachers coaching them outside of school — who have helped both our students and our director, Cory Edwards, in their own personal musical paths towards this concert hour.

You can hear the Wind Ensemble again at our Spring Concert, where they will be joined by the Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and RMS & TMS bands for an extraordinary night of music and collaboration.
