LWSD Honor Band is a coming together of the best musicians across our District. Directors nominate students for participation and the honorees work with regional expert clinicians on their instrument and attend three rehearsals before playing with an esteemed guest conductor. This year's conductor is Ms. Maggie Whiteman.

Ten of our musicians from RHS Band have been nominated and accepted participation in the 2023 Lake Washington School District Honor Band! Be sure to congratulate them for this acknowledgement of all their hard work.
Nomination Process
The Band Director nominates students for LWSD Honor Band. Beginning with a preference for 12th graders, he will use in-class performance and rehearsal, auditions for the Wind Ensemble and Jazz Band, and word-of-mouth from other music colleagues to help identify who our honors kids are to the best of his abilities. Interested students should speak directly with Mr. Edwards.
Once nominations have been made, those students will receive an email with the letter of information. It is an honor simply to be nominated. Students may certainly decline if they have conflicts or would prefer not to take part in this event. Signed permission slips are required in order to participate. Rehearsals are Oct 10th, 19th, and 24th. The final culminating performance features the honor band, choir, and orchestra groups performing at the Juanita Field House on Wednesday, November 1st starting at 7:30 PM.
